What can you expect from Lanaland live music classes at your nursery?

We always begin with welcome warm up songs and stretches. We always include ABCs and counting songs. There will be some repetition each time. The children like this and learn well from it. We will also take song requests.

We are sensitive to the childrens’ needs. If they are an energetic bunch, we will work with that energy, if they are having a tired day, we will slow the session down to suit the kids. This is the beauty of live music and 20 years of experience with a huge repertoire of songs. It means we can adapt and be flexible.

Each session can be tied in with a theme that you are teaching. If there is no particular theme, Ilana Banana will rotate the sessions with a different focus each time- animals, body, weather, transport, colours, for example. We can also incorporate Spanish, French and/or Hebrew. Ilana will bring some or all of her props- instruments, parachute, bubbles, rainbows, animal puppets, depending on the length of the session.

The music is always performed with live ukulele and the children will leave having learned something, moved about a lot and smiled a’plenty. The focus is very much on education being fun.
